Sony will hold a press conference in New York at the PlayStation Theater on September 7 at 3 p.m. ET. The invitation reads:
“We hope to see you there, and we can’t wait to share details with you about the PlayStation business.”
The press conference was originally supposed to be a technical showcase showing the Playstation 4 Neo, the rumored upgraded console. However, it is now rumored that not only will they reveal the Playstation 4 Neo, but also a Playstation 4 Slim according to the Wall Street Journal.
“Analyst Damian Thong said that he believed the new standard model would be slimmer and less expensive than the current $350 device.”
Not only did the Wall Street Journal report this, but earlier that day, photos have leaked of the supposed PS4 Slim. You can check them out below:
As you can notice, the unit seems to be somewhat smaller than original. Besides being slimmer and having a rumored cheaper cost, it’s also said to come with a new Dualshock 4 that will feature a light on the touchpad. You can see the video here, but just incase it gets removed then we have also grabbed a screenshot of it:
We will update this post as more information is leaked, but we will hopefully be able to confirm all of these details on September 7th!
