After a few days of teasing, Rockstar Games has officially announced Red Dead Redemption 2. The much-anticipated title will release in the Fall of 2017, and a trailer will release on Thursday, October 20th, at 11 AM Eastern.
Rockstar Games’ press release only listed Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as intended platforms on release. With PC being left off the announcement, we can assume that Red Dead Redemption 2 will follow the same release pattern as Grand Theft Auto V, where the PC version released over a year after the initial launch date.
On Rockstar Games’ official website, they gave a brief description of the upcoming title. “Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The games vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.”
The online multiplayer experience will most likely be titled “Red Dead Online”, a name that was leaked earlier today. I personally expect this mode to be reminiscent of Grand Theft Auto Online.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for pre-order right now!
