A press release was sent out by Square Enix that involved how Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released. In the press release, Square Enix said the game “will be told over across a multi-part series”. Square Enix didn’t mention a price point per episode or how many episodes would be released. They did state that each entry will offer a unique experience. Here is the official press release below courtesy of Jason Schreier of Kotaku.
LOS ANGELES (Dec. 6, 2015) – During this past weekend’s PlayStation Experience in San Francisco, SQUARE ENIX® debuted a new trailer forFINAL FANTASY® VII REMAKE, the full remake of the award-winning role-playing game, FINAL FANTASY VII. The new trailer features the first CG scenes as well as gameplay footage. FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE will be told across a multi-part series, with each entry providing its own unique experience.

I have mixed feelings on this. You’ll for sure be able to play the game earlier because of this. If priced correctly it could be a great move. Square could also screw this up by having a large period of time in between each entry. We just have to wait for more details to be released. Don’t mess this up Square Enix!
